My whole life I have been on the move, constantly having to learn new skills, new languages or new ways of social interaction. Alongside the strong feeling of freedom any new adventure gave me, was fear of the unknown, sorrow over what had been lost and loneliness. Being the new girl in class, the new employer at work, the new face in the neighborhood, is a pretty difficult role to play. In some places you bloom, others you fall, whatever worked for you in one place might be the end of you in the next.

To not truly belong anywhere, can build a strong sense of yourself as well as giving you a larger perspective on life and the people you meet. And it can make you into the perfect misfit; not feeling part of anywhere or committed to anyone, knowing only this: The only thing that is certain in life is change.

This mala is made for supporting the ones standing in the middle of their life’s storm, or those having to go through life alone. It is made out of six semi-precious stones which I find helpful in times of uncertainty.

The black TOURMALINE will work to provide you with stamina in order to deal with stress over a longer period of time, as well as the feeling of loss. It is a highly positive and protective stone, helping you to heal and build a strong shield around your body. Another stone that I always rely on when going through tremendous changes is the CHAROITE. This purple stone has the reputation of being THE stone of Transformation. One of its many abilities is to help you connect the heart with the crown chakra, making it possible to be more tolerant of one’s own as well as other people’s errors and flaws. By opening up for unconditional love it becomes easier to overcome fear of an uncertain future as well as fear of reliving the past. And so you can focus on more important matters, such as learning new skills. The CHROME DIOPSIDE is a stone of creativity, and a good companion for anyone learning new abilities, in particular languages. The AMETHYST is an absolutely excellent supporting crystal of the human mind. It'll help you to be more focused, analytical and in control of your emotions. However, in order to make permanent changes in life one typically needs to change inside as well. The ASTROPHYLLITE is a stone of self knowledge. It will assist you in taking that long, hard look at yourself without further excuses or feelings of guilt and shame. Lastly, but not least; the most popular stone of the New Age movement, the SUGILITE, is chosen for this mala's guru. This stone of Universal Love is a powerful reminder of that acceptance and forgiveness can be the fastest way to overcome great obstacles without losing faith in humanity and your part in it, even if it so happens that you for the time being are entirely on your own.

What you get
This hand knotted 108 beads mala is made of six semi precious gemstones in the colors of green, black and purple; Chrome Diopside, Astrophyllite, Schorl Tourmaline, Charoite, Sugilite, Amethyst, and a large Sugilite guru bead. All Sugilite beads come from the Wessel Mine in South Africa that is owned by South32. It is ornamented with gold plated spacers, fair trade gold vermeil spacers from the Karen Hill Tribe as well as two black bone beads all the way from Tibet with ‘Om mani padme hum’ written on them (Tibetan Buddhists believe that saying this mantra out loud or silently to oneself, invokes the attention and blessings of the Bodhisattva of compassion). These bone-beads are included for symbolic ornamentation and shall not be counted if using the mala for mantras. The handmade tassel is made of black rayon silk, and the mala is knotted with enduring and solid s-lon, also in black. The length is approximately 24 3/4 inches (63cm) tassel included. The sugilite barrels, amethysts, tourmalines and charoites is of AAA quality.

The malas I create are purely made for meditation or as helpful companions in your daily life. It is not medication, and should not be eaten as such ;-).

Feel Good:
This mala is allergy-friendly, and do not contain lead, nickel or cadmium.

Care and Cleansing:
Crystals are absorbers and transmitters of energy. In order for them to do their work, they need cleansing after use.

Clean the beads with a soft cloth of lukewarm clean water, and leave the mala in the moon light if possible. Another way of cleansing the mala is to smudge it, or to store it together with Carnelian stones over night.
If you need to clean the tassel, do remember that silk is not particular fond of water. I suggest using a comb in order to release the tassel of dust. Do not clean this mala with chemicals. If stored properly and taken care of this mala might outlive you!

Placebo or Empowerment
To me crystals are powerful companions during meditations and in my daily doings. They do possess wisdom or connotes wisdom, they do empower me or I imagining they do. Truth to be told; I will never know for sure why crystals have such a positive influence on my life.
What I do know however is that no crystal alone can cure me of a severe chronic disability, or turn a doomed love affair into a happy ending. To be able to see what is possible and what is simply out of the question, is the first amendment in any book of survival-skills. That does not mean I don’t believe in miracles. Miracles are happening every day if you’re asking me! But as the complicated process of creating crystals reveals; miracles do not happen by itself.
